Responsibilities

Perform load calculations to determine sizing of actuators, transmissions, and bearing elementsDesign creative mec hanisms and transmissions for power transfer through moving jointsDesign joints and structures optimized for mass,stifiness, cost, and manufacturing Apply analytical methods including calculations and simulations for the design andoptimization of structures and mechanical componentsPerform tolerance analysis to determine system impacts of assembly fits and backlashIntegrate actuators, sensors, and electronics incuding wiring into a space-efficient packagethat is also conducive for assembly and serviceabilityFabricate prototypes, iterate rapidly, advance your concepts through to volume production Manage suppliers to execute projects according to the design specifications and timelinecommitmentsDevelop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its determined lifetime Design fixtures and equipment for testing and calibration in prototype and production environments

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics or equivalent industry experienceProficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software (Solidworks or Catia preferred) Experience drafting engineering drawings, applying appropriate fit tolerances and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis (GD&T)Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environmentWork autonomously to prioritise issue s and are results orientated based on facts
